A sunset-to-night skyline is part of the experience
Tokyo’s skyline meets an Australian beach setup this summer—complete with a DIY-style rum bar.
From May 15 to September 30, 2026, Hilton Tokyo opens its rooftop for Sunset Beach Australia Beer Garden, a seasonal event held nightly on the hotel’s seventh-floor terrace, except in rain or strong winds.
The theme draws on Australia’s beach culture, marking the 50th anniversary of the Japan–Australia Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation. The space features a tiki bar, surfboards, and road signs, with views over Shinjuku Central Park and surrounding towers. The real show, though, is the sky—shifting from sunset tones to a glittering night view.
A two-hour free-flow plan with a shared platter starts from ¥7,000. Premium seating and weekend pricing apply, with optional upgrades for sparkling wine or champagne.
Drinks include draft beers such as Asahi Super Dry and Peroni Nastro Azzurro, along with canned options like Coopers Original Pale Ale. A rum bar offers a selection of rums with mixers and garnishes for self-serve cocktails.
The food, created by executive chef Mandar Madav, centers on Australian-inspired dishes. The platter features items like a sausage-in-bread Bunnings sandwich（バニングスサンド）, sesame chicken wings with Marmite-based sauce, and Haymarket-style bite-sized crispy gyoza, alongside fries and a smoked cod Caesar salad.
The terrace has 186 seats, including 48 premium lounge seats. Reservations are available for groups of two or more. Opening hours are 5:30pm to 10pm. Prices include tax and service. Some drinks are self-serve. Guests under 13 are not admitted.
As the light fades, the setting shifts—but the format stays firmly Tokyo: timed, structured, and all-you-can-drink.
