A 50-meter-high rooftop in Niigata turns into a Mediterranean-style beer garde
Fifty meters above Niigata, a rooftop turns into a summer-long Mediterranean bar.
Hotel Okura Niigata (ホテルオークラ新潟) will host “The Rooftop Beer Terrace 2026” from June 26 to September 12, taking over its open-air terrace for the season. Bookings and early-bird tickets open May 1.

The setup is simple: a Mediterranean-style spread by hotel chefs, served all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink. Think beer-braised spare ribs, seafood paella, aquapazza and döner kebab, plus sirloin steak finished in a live kitchen.

There are 43 drinks in rotation, from major Japanese beers to highballs, sours, sake and wine. One local twist: Daiichi Shokuhin Momo Taro Sour(第一食品のもも太郎サワー), based on a nostalgic Japanese popsicle long loved in Niigata.
Up here, the view shifts as fast as the menu—sunset fading into city lights about 50 meters above ground.
Early-bird tickets (¥7,000) run from May 1 to June 25 at the hotel front desk, with the same price available for online bookings during that window. Advance online reservations made by the day before also come with a discount.
Not a bad place to lose track of time—and maybe count drinks instead.
