Urban Earth BBQ opens at Kobe Hankyu with champagne and city views
A rooftop BBQ in Kobe is getting a full refresh for the season—with a new VIP area adding a splash of champagne to the mix.
URBAN EARTH BBQ Kobe Hankyu opens April 15 on the rooftop of Kobe Hankyu, right by Sannomiya Station, and runs through September 30. Set above the city, the space looks out over Kobe’s skyline and surrounding mountains. The concept is an “urban outdoor” setting—grilling in the open air without leaving the city behind.
This season, both food and drink lineups have been expanded. The setup follows Japan’s “tebura BBQ” style, meaning you show up empty-handed and everything is provided, from equipment to ingredients.
The location is directly connected to the station, making it easy to drop in after work. Covered tents are installed, so the BBQ continues even in wet weather. A new VIP area debuts this year, available for an additional ¥20,000 per group. It includes premium drinks such as champagne and Corona beer, along with mist fans to keep things comfortable on warmer days.
Three courses are available: Casual BBQ Set (カジュアルBBQセット), Thick-Cut Steak BBQ Set (厚切りステーキの豪快BBQセット), and Wagyu and Seafood BBQ Set (和牛＆海鮮の豪華BBQセット). Each comes with a choice of all-you-can-drink plans—either alcoholic drinks plus soft drinks, or soft drinks only. A kids’ set with soft drinks is also offered.
Hours are 4:30pm to 10pm on weekdays, and 11am to 10pm on weekends and holidays.
You’re still in the city—technically. It just doesn’t feel like it.
