Morinaga launches its first-ever shared treats for humans and dogs on March 3.
Starting March 3, Morinaga Seika (森永製菓) rolls out seven treats designed for both humans and their four-legged roommates. Yes, the same company behind your childhood biscuits now wants in on snack time with your pup.

The lineup leans familiar—with a twist. There’s Mini Moonlight with Dog (ミニムーンライトwithドッグ), a remix of the brand’s classic cookie. Fruit jelly shows up as Wan Jelly Stick with Dog (ワンゼリースティックwithドッグ) and Wan Jelly Pouch with Dog (ワンゼリーパウチwithドッグ). A Japanese pear–flavored Ice Box with Dog (アイスボックスwithドッグ) joins the party, plus Frozen Hotcake with Dog (冷凍ホットケーキwithドッグ) for anyone who thinks brunch should include paws at the table.
It’s not a novelty drop. The company says safety and taste were built side by side, with input from pet food makers and insurers. Researchers, including Professor Masuda at Tokyo University of Agriculture, were brought in to study what it actually means for people and dogs to share the same “experience.” (Snack time, but make it academic.)

The backdrop: pets in Japan are increasingly treated like family. So instead of separate bowls and side-eyes, Morinaga is betting on shared bites. The products will roll out online and at supermarkets, convenience stores, pet shops and home centers around the Tokyo metro area.
And they’re taking it offline, too. On March 15, the company plans to host “WITH DOG DAY” at SAGA Arena in Saga Prefecture—an event where you can watch sports with your dog. Stadium nachos, meet chew-friendly counterparts.
It’s a simple idea, really. You’re eating a cookie. Your dog is staring at you. Now, theoretically, you can both stop pretending.
