This Osaka rooftop BBQ spot lets you bring the food and skip the cleanup
Day drinking with grilled lobster and zero cleanup? Osaka’s rooftop BBQ season just found its final form. Starting April 29, 2026, Mochikomi BBQ Plan (持ち込みBBQプラン) and a new daytime lunch service launched at Namba Beer Garden BBQ Terrace Namba Shinsaibashi (難波ビアガーデン BBQテラス なんば心斎橋店) in the city’s Minami district.
Perched on a rooftop overlooking Namba and Shinsaibashi, the beer garden leans fully into tropical escape mode: rattan-style sofas, glowing lights and an open-air setup that feels pleasantly detached from the chaos below.
Until now, the venue mainly operated at night. The new lunch service opens from noon on weekends and holidays, trading neon and city lights for sunlight, breeze and daytime beers. Two all-you-can-drink courses are available: a Standard plan centered on BBQ skewers, and a Premium plan featuring grilled spiny lobster and thick-cut sirloin steak.
Then there’s the new bring-your-own option. With the Mochikomi BBQ Plan, guests can bring whatever food and drinks they want while the venue provides the grill equipment and handles the cleanup afterward. In Japan, where organizing a BBQ can easily turn into a full-scale operation involving gear rentals and garbage sorting, the appeal is obvious.
Dinner service continues as usual with Mediterranean-style BBQ courses and free-flow beer, cocktails and soft drinks served from a dedicated counter.
Lunch service runs from noon to 3.45pm on weekends and holidays, while dinner starts at 5pm daily. Turns out the most luxurious part of BBQ might be leaving without carrying anything home except the smell of smoke on your shirt.
