Fluffy, sweet, and dangerously collectible: Pokémon snacks, mission accepted
Tokyo Banana—the souvenir everyone insists they’re “just grabbing for someone else”—has gone full Pokémon again. The result: Pokémon Tokyo Banana(ポケモン東京ばな奈), a crossover that knows exactly what it’s doing and doesn’t bother pretending otherwise.

First launched in 2020, the series takes the familiar Tokyo Banana sponge and pushes it further into Pokémon territory: softer, squishier, and engineered to disappear in about three bites. Inside is a silky banana custard inspired by the Nanab Berry—sweet, nostalgic, and dangerously easy to inhale. The outside comes stamped with Pikachu faces, because restraint was clearly never part of the brief.

There are six sponge designs, but one has become the unofficial main character: the heart-tipped Pikachu tail, visible only from the back. You can’t request it. You can’t hunt it down. It just shows up when it feels like it. Find one and your snack suddenly feels less like dessert and more like fate. Each cake is individually wrapped in a Poké Ball–style package, which somehow makes buying an extra box feel… responsible.

Then comes the comeback. To mark Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, Eevee Tokyo Banana(イーブイ東京ばな奈)returns after a four-year vanishing act. The sponge features Eevee’s wide-eyed expressions, paired with a banana custard laced with caramel macchiato flavor—a cozy, café-coded twist they’ve dubbed “Caramel Mofuart.” It’s plush, sweet, and gone before you’ve fully decided whether to save it or photograph it.

Eevee also gets six designs, including—naturally—a rare heart version. Same rules as Pikachu: random appearance, instant bragging rights, mild disbelief that this is happening over cake.
Eevee Tokyo Banana is a limited-time return, running from January 14 through April 19, 2026—miss it and you’ll hear about it later. Grab a box, open it immediately, and enjoy that rare moment when a Tokyo souvenir feels less like an obligation and more like a tiny win.
