Why Japan keeps turning ordinary products into collectible culture
“I’ll exterminate them” just got real—Attack on Titan(進撃の巨人) meets cockroach spray.
One of anime’s most famous lines—“I’ll exterminate them”—has been repurposed for a very different enemy: cockroaches.

Earth Corporation will release a special edition of its insecticide, Gokijet Pro (ゴキジェットプロ), in collaboration with the hit manga and anime Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan), starting mid-March 2026 at DAISO, Japan’s ubiquitous 100-yen shop chain.
The concept is simple and sharp. In the original story, protagonist Eren directs that line at giant humanoid creatures known as Titans. Here, the same idea of total elimination is redirected toward household pests.
The product comes in three designs featuring Eren, Levi and Mikasa, using the series’ visual style while retaining the spray’s core performance. Its fast-acting ingredient, imiprothrin, delivers what the brand calls “instant knockdown,” while a powerful jet spray helps target insects directly.
By launching at DAISO—a go-to store for younger shoppers—the company aims to reach consumers who may not have previously engaged with pest control products. A 200ml can is priced at ¥550 (tax included), with availability varying by store.
Japan has a long-running habit of turning everyday products into pop culture collaborations, but attaching Attack on Titan to cockroach spray feels especially committed — even by local standards.
Turns out “extermination” hits a little closer to home than expected—credit to Japan’s oddly brilliant product sense. 👍
